Richard “Rick” Maxey, also known as Captain Rick, is a Real Estate Associate with Berkshire Hathaway HomeService Hawaii Realty and an avid fisherman on a rare day off.
Born and raised in Kailua, O‘ahu, I have been fortunate to grow up in the quaint neighborhood of Lanikai where I call the ocean home. An active member of the Kailua neighborhood and well connected in the business community––as well as being a successful business owner/operator in the travel industry for the last 25 years––my code of conduct is the Golden Rule: treat others as you wish to be treated, share the Aloha Spirit, AND customers come first!
Having inherited the entrepreneur lure and business sense from my mother, Mahina, I branched into the travel industry in 1992 and started my own company with my wife. This small company has grown over the years into a very successful business. In 1998, I secured my real estate license. With my network of business and clientele connections, I have been very active in real estate trade.
I treasure my family dearly (wife and three lovely daughters) and devote a great deal to my girls! I have coached my 12 year old throughout many seasons in soccer, as well as raised them to enjoy the sea, fishing on our old wooden glass bottom boat. I received my 100-ton Masters License and have worked as a charter fishing captain in Seward, Alaska, my second favorite place on the planet!
